Week 8 - 75D/The end is in sight
Or is it?
I finally figured out what the last official day of our challenge actually is…I hadn’t done that yet and I figured it was probably time.
September 18th.
It would have been five days before that, but I added five days on the end to “make up” for our time in Albuquerque.
This week involved a LOT. Our friends Travis and Jess arrived the same day our new neighbors next door moved in. We really like our new neighbors and I’m looking forward to getting to know them even better. We even had an impromptu stand in the street and chat with all three of our direct neighbors last Friday night. I have literally never done that before at any place I have lived. I’m not sure if it’s Texas or if it’s just the fact that I’m older and more interested in actually getting to know the people who inhabit the same spot on earth that I do, but either way, I’m kind of enjoying it. We don’t have to be besties, but it is good to at least know the names of the people who live right near you.
With the arrival of Travis and Jess comes a few things. First, lots of game playing and laughter. We looooove playing games and Travis and Jess do too so there are many many game nights in our near future. Having friends live in your backyard for a few weeks is also a schedule disrupter but in the best way possible. I’ve missed a couple days of walking and writing as a result, but I’m not beating myself up over it. I’m still learning from this challenge and overall I think THAT is the most important thing. I’m already looking forward to writing my final recap from this experience and crafting a list of all of my takeaways and how I plan to incorporate what I’ve learned going forward. Isn’t that really what life is all about?
