April 2024
The month started with us on a cruise! Sadly this cruise wasn’t our favorite. I feel dumb saying that b/c hello…it’s a cruise! But I guess we’ve been spoiled by Royal and this one just didn’t really compare. Paul and I are also feeling like if we want to relax we will go tropical all inclusive and if we want to sight see we will cruise. Happy our next one isn’t for a year and a half.
Our drive back fro NOLA was pretty uneventful an the promised mass traffic for the eclipse never seemed to materialize.
I got my second injection for HRT and am loving the results so far. The eclipse was such a fun experience and I am so glad we were in the path of totality, it really does make a difference!
The rest of the month was spent working hard on getting my shop open, finishing up BSF and Artios and spending a lot of time with friends. We got to spend a fun night going down to Austin to see Jordan Peterson and also got to have a fun bowling night with our life group.
The backyard is also taking shape as we got most of the landscaping finished up, just one other section to really clean up before we put some artificial turf down so we are enjoying spending a lot of time in the yard although we aren’t loving the swarm of fuzzy black caterpillars that are taking over everything. There are like 40-50 in the pool every day!!
Can’t believe four months of this year have already passed! We booked our trip to Orlando in October and are also getting ready for some travel this summer!

Travel
The month started with us on our cruise! We cruised to Cozumel, Honduras, Belize and Costa Maya. We ended up back in New Orleans and drove home and other than that we stayed put!!
Watched
We saw Civil War in the theater, watched a magic prank show, lots of YouTubes and started Fallout. Not as much time to watch TV this month!
Read
Favorite from the month: Digital Liturgies (SO GOOD) and Unlikely Animals was a surprise joy. Also I’m glad my mom died was WILD.
REALLY disliked: The Rom Commers (so bad!) and Hello, Beautiful (my book club book)

Studying/Bible verse that impacted you the most?
BSF and ARTIOS are both winding down for this academic year and I’m going to miss them both but am also happy for the break. I’ve gotten so much out of studying the book of John and my biggest two takeaways have to be about how individual Jesus was with all of his disciples and just the overall implication of who Jesus claimed to be. He claimed over and over and over again to be God - we HAVE to wrestle with that. We believe him or we don’t. Both have implications.
Favorite Memory from the month?
I mean the solar eclipse has to be the favorite. We got back from a rather lackluster cruise (I know, I know) and the next day was a once in a lifetime (usually) event! We had the PERFECT view from our backyard, our friends Sam and Jeff and their two daughters came over to hang, the weather was perfect so we hung out side and even got in the pool a bit and it was just such an amazing site to see the moon FULLY cover the sun. It was FANTASTIC!
