May 2024
This was a pretty chill month that was filled (literally) with tons of rain. I think we actually beat the record for rainiest month in Waco, ever. So many storms came through that just dumped and dumped and dumped rain. The golf course was flooded most of the month, our street flooded a couple of times and over and over again the pool was filled to the brim. Crazy! We needed the rain for sure and honestly I prefer this to the draught we’ve had the past few years.
BSF wrapped up and I’m gearing up for my leadership position next year. Paul and I had some fun weekends where we didn’t do much except errands and watching golf. He has stayed plenty busy with projects for others. We are trying to get work stuff and financial stuff situated without a lot of luck, but we will get there.
My one book club is going great and Charmaine and I decided to start another one for our life group - we had our first meeting this month and 18 people joined! Wild! We will see how many stick it out once the going gets tough. LOL. We got to see the Merrifields twice - once at their house and another when they came down to hang out and spend a couple of nights with us. The kids loved the pool and overall we had a great time.
Summer is looking to be pretty good! We have two trips planned - one mission trip at the very end of June and then a trip to Alb to see my parents at the beginning of August. We will be in the pool a lot I’m sure especially as the temps go up up and up. My HRT journey has been going great and I’ve seen improvements in so many different areas that it has been just such a crazy blessing. Work is still shaky - I launched my t-shirt shop but it’s been slow going off the jump. Hoping to run some ads soon to get things moving. Praying about that and selling the RV. Both of those things would have a huge impact for us.

Studying/Bible verse that impacted you the most?
Its time to study on my own now that BSF, Anchor Down and Artios are all done for the semester. I read on my own in Romans for a bit and also read a book on Revelation in preparation for next year. Paul and I are starting a new study on James next month.
Favorite Memory from the month?
Maybe not one thing in particular, but the whole month was really enjoyable as we got to enjoy the backyard quite a bit and its been so nice to see the fruits of our labor. We swam a lot (when it wasn’t raining), we sat outside a lot (when it wasn’t raining) and hosted a few times in our house which was enjoyable. Kind of a chill month with not a lot going on, but sometimes that’s just the best.
