March 2023
March felt like a whirlwind. It started fast with a book signing and then a loooong trip in the car by myself to Chattanooga for a conference. When I got back we were pretty much non-stop with friends and activities etc. The month ended with a little bit of a break and some downtime as we get further into the Spring and into Summer. We haven’t had a lot of things on the books in the next few months but our calendar is slowly starting to get some items penciled in. The weather was really nice this month as well, more rain than last year but also more wind. We had one tense moment with a tornado warning but otherwise the temps have been nice and we’ve enjoyed many an afternoon sitting on the patio. We are making lots of progress in the backyard as well…the pavilion is pretty much done and there was tons of progress on the outdoor kitchen. We also finalized the paperwork for the pool so that is progressing as well. Our friends Trav & Jess were here most of the month before they took off to Florida and we had the fun opportunity to visit as well with Mary and Mike who came in town for the day. We also had a SUPER fun day hanging with Jana and Barry at the John Crist show and had a super yummy dinner at the Ft. Worth Stockyards as well. Whew! Lots of good times!

Studying/Bible verse that impacted you the most?
Continuing through our study of the Minor Prophets in the OT through my BSF study has just been so fascinating and really has me wanting to dig deeper. Even though I’ve read through the Bible twice before, these books are really coming more alive for me with the additional context that we got starting in 1 and 2 Kings and 1 and 2 Chronicles. The repetitive story the sinfulness of the Israelites, the constant warnings of the prophets and the continual promise of God to always save a remnant is just such an interesting perspective of the beauty of God’s gift of Jesus as our redeemer. There are tough questions around why did it take so long and so many kings and just so much time, but ultimately that shows God’s patience that I just don’t think we as humans can fully grasp. Especially now in our insta-gratification world.
Favorite Memory from the month?
Gotta go with Reset on this one. Not only making that really long drive all by myself but just being able to meet with my team and connect with so many old and new friends at the conference is just a great time that fills my soul!
