August 2023
This month was full of lots of fun activities but it mainly centered around ONE thing...the pool. This pool project has been one that neither Paul nor I really know how to feel about. It's been so incredibly frustrating as the communication with the pool guy we are working with has been less than stellar. He is often vague and does a lot of overpromising and under-delivering. So many ups and downs. We'd be excited thinking something would happen one day and then the next be totally down b/c we found out it didn't happen and it would mean it was another week or so delay. Frustrating is the only word that I can think of to describe it. So it's kind of tampered the excitement of getting it in in the first place. Not to mention the giant hole has been in our yard for basically the whole summer and it probably will be finished and ready right when the temps really start to drop. Through all of that though we are trying to be grateful and humble that getting a pool is even an option and not to complain too much!!
Other than all of that - the month was great! We got to go to a super fun birthday bash and celebrate some fun game nights with friends. Paul finished the dining room hutch and also started on the rolling bookcase project - which was halted when the pool was finally delivered. He also made our sidetables on our couch bigger which was awesome.
I read a ton of books and became an official bookstagrammer - well as official as it can be. I really do enjoy it and I enjoy making content about books. I've been thinking through ways to monetize it but it might be a while before I do that. I also have been getting some more sales in for my LR Secrets bootcamp so that has been progressing as well. Overall somewhat glad the summer is winding down (although we'd love to get some swimming in) and ready and excited for the Fall and last few months of 2023!

Studying/Bible verse that impacted you the most?
Paul and I finished our study of Colossians and have started reading through Acts. I start BSF next month (and am in Rhonda’s group!!!) and we will be studying John. Paul and I are also waiting to see if we will be accepted into Artios which will mean a lot of study. I’ve been praying for continued hunger for God’s word and he is responding. I’ve not been this excited to read and study for a very long time. I know God will use this in a mighty way.
Favorite Memory from the month?
The fact that the pool ended up being delivered on the exact same day that I was hosting Anchor Down game night was for sure a memory I won’t forget in a while. I had been waiting all summer to plan this game night to avoid any conflict with the pool and then of course it all ended up happening on the same day. And it was supposed to show up at around 2, but didn’t show up until 4 which meant that it went right down to the wire when it came to the party. Luckily Adrienne an Sam showed up early to help me which was a huge blessing and the party went off without a hitch. We had such a good time and it was nice to be able to show off the newly dropped pool. What a memory indeed!
