September 2023
This month was a weird one. It was great in a lot of ways and it was super hard in a lot of ways. Most of the hard was tied up in anxiety and stress about the trip we took to El Paso at the very end of the month.
To start off though - it was great! With the pool freshly delivered we got to work on getting everything finished with regard to this project. So we had to wait for the guys to come do the coping, we had to get the plumbing done, had to get inspections (which was a WHOLE ordeal) and then get the concrete guys to come and do the forms and then pour all of the concrete around the pool. It pretty much took most of the month to get all of that completed but for the most part it’s done! As of right now (beginning of Oct) we still need them to come complete the grout for the coping, need to get some dirtwork done and finished and our pool guy promised us a hot tub which he has yet to deliver on. But other than that, it’s looking really good in the backyard and we have been enjoying doing a lot of swimming. Even the pups are enjoying it!!!
Aside from that it’s been a busy month of new beginnings. Anchor Down, BSF started again and Paul and I were accepted into Artios and that started as well! So it’s been a whirlwind of getting back into the swing of things and attending classes etc.
Baylor football also started back up and there was a tailgate almost every weekend. Which was fun but also exhausting. It’s continued to be hot hot hot so the tailgates weren’t honestly all that enjoyable. LOL.
Our month culminated with a big trip down to El Paso in the camper. I was stressed b/c we were out of practice. It would also be a week of unknowns and heat and stress. In the end, everything worked out even better than we hoped. I had lots of people praying for us and the power of those prayers was felt in a very real way. Kyle and Serina got married and we had a great time celebrating with them. It was a good month, but honestly I’m glad its over!

Studying/Bible verse that impacted you the most?
Paul and I finished our study of Colossians and have started reading through Acts. I start BSF next month (and am in Rhonda’s group!!!) and we will be studying John. Paul and I are also waiting to see if we will be accepted into Artios which will mean a lot of study. I’ve been praying for continued hunger for God’s word and he is responding. I’ve not been this excited to read and study for a very long time. I know God will use this in a mighty way.
Favorite Memory from the month?
The fact that the pool ended up being delivered on the exact same day that I was hosting Anchor Down game night was for sure a memory I won’t forget in a while. I had been waiting all summer to plan this game night to avoid any conflict with the pool and then of course it all ended up happening on the same day. And it was supposed to show up at around 2, but didn’t show up until 4 which meant that it went right down to the wire when it came to the party. Luckily Adrienne an Sam showed up early to help me which was a huge blessing and the party went off without a hitch. We had such a good time and it was nice to be able to show off the newly dropped pool. What a memory indeed!
