February 2023

February 2023 came in COLD! Literally, the month started with an ice storm. It wasn’t bad as ice storms in the past, but it still shut down most of the city for a good three days or so. Things thawed out just in time for me to go to the movies with some of my ladies from class! We saw 80 for Brady which was pretty cheesy but still a good time. Paul and I headed to Austin for a fun weekend adventure and did some shopping as well. We hit up all the usual places like Costco and TJ’s and also stopped at Living Spaces and At Home as well to look at some outdoor furniture. I did a lot of walking, we had friends come over for dinner. The month had a ton of great moments including Valentines day, the women’s retreat at church, our besties Travis and Jess returning to the US from Mexico and parking it in our backyard for a few months (yes months!!!) and then of course my birthday. It was such a fun day, Paul took me to breakfast and then we all went on a tour of Waco which was a fab time. We ended the night with dinner at a new Italian place in town and then home to play some games. I also was celebrated at our womens bible study game afternoon as a surprise. Paul got me a hot tub for my birthday and he also finished the pavilion in the back yard. We have our eyes on a pool that will probably be happening in the next few months as well. Work was super slow, but I’m gearing up for the Reset Conference next month which will hopefully revive and inspire me when it comes to business. Family stuff is still pretty rough but we are making progress with Paul’s working situation. It’s kind of a slow start to the year but I’m focusing on praising God for his many blessings and attempting to pour into others. Let’s go Spring!!

Studying/Bible verse that impacted you the most?

We have been mostly in Isaiah this month for BSF and, like the rest of the study, I’m loving it. Isaiah is such an intimidating book. It’s so long and so full of rich language that it’s hard to digest. We went through it in a very approachable way however and I feel a lot more affection for the book now. I love how it sits right in the middle of the Bible and the first part of it mimics the OT and the second part is a reflection of the NT. It’s almost the whole story of the Bible in one book. Super cool indeed. I love how God is so symmetrical and also lets nothing go to waste. He is so creative and crafty and I love seeing that side of Him come to life through his word!

Favorite Memory from the month?

My birthday takes the cake (haha) on this one! Although the women’s retreat and birthday games with my bible study ladies comes in at a close 2nd and 3rd. Being able to spend the majority of the day having fun with my friends Travis and Jessica, taking a tour of Waco and then finishing the day with a good dinner and games is exactly how I would want to spend my birthday. I love that we get to have so many special memories together!
