October 2023

This month started out with a bang as we drove back from El Paso all in one long exhausting day and then I had jury duty the next day. That was quite the experience! I got on a panel but then apparently every one settled so we all got to leave. Honestly I was kind of disappointed because I was super interested in the process and how it would all work out!

We continued to have pretty hot weather for a lot of the month so we got to do a lot of swimming. Still a lot of frogs to deal with. We got the coping finally done, no dirt work and still no hot tub.
Had a lot of great times with friends this month including dinner and a musical, Italian feast at the Chak’s house, some movies with friends and continued activities in everything we are involved in.

One new exciting development this month is the fact that Paul basically got his dream “job”. He is no working on a crew of guys who are building a house! Its with some guys in his bible study and he is just having the best time getting to do good, hard work that is different from day to day. He comes home exhausted but happy and by the end of the month had already gotten a raise! It’s been fun to watch him really be able to do some work that he likes and have a “boss” who he works well with and is very understanding and flexible which is so great.

Lots of other fun things happened this month (in the list below) and overall I feel like we are feeling ready for the holidays and ready for our CRUISE next month!!!

Studying/Bible verse that impacted you the most?

We are getting deeper into John in BSF and dang its so good. The main point from the woman at the well - When Jesus asks something of you, he always has something better to give to you - is still sticking with me. Also the fact that Jesus always meets us where we are and is so much more concerned with the status of our hearts than anything else is also really impactful. We are blowing through the OT in Artios and I’m getting so much out of that as well. Continuing to pray for God to keep me hungry for his word! It’s such a blessing to have!!!

Favorite Memory from the month?

Quite a few things stand out this month! Dinner and the musical with Daniel and Brenda was so much fun as well as the solar (lunar?) eclipse. The weather was beautiful and we didn’t have a ton to do so we just hung outside and checked out the moon blocking out the sun. It was a pretty cool experience. Marv falling in the pool and then coming in and shaking off while Paul and I were making coffee was a pretty funny memory as well.
